Wenzel Quality at BMW & GM
Wenzel have been selected to supply new CMM requirements to leading automotive manufacturers BMW and General Motors.
Earlier this year Wenzel received a remarkable order from BMW for the supply of ALL its Coordinate Measuring Machine requirements at its new production facility in Leipzig. With this order Wenzel expanded its leading position as CMM supplier with the BMW Group. Some 21 Wenzel CMMs are also installed at the BMW Spartanburg S.C. facility in the US. The order for some 14 new CMM measuring units is valued at over $3,000,000 and a further extension to the order is already budgeted for 2004.
Wenzel was also selected by Heneral Motors for a $2,000,000 order for CMM machines to be supplied to it's Adem Opel AG plants ay Bochum and Antwerp. The new order increases to over 50 the number of Wenzel CMMs supplied to Gemera Motors during just the last four years.
These orders ensure that Wenzel continue its period of dramatic growth and are the dominant #2 supplier of CMMs after Zeiss in the important German market and significantly ahead of Brown & Sharpe.
